If you’ve been waiting for the Moto Z2 Play to be launched, then your wait is nearly over with a Spanish invite to an event seemingly for the Z2 set for June 1st.
The phone has been getting leaked left, right and centre of late, usually indicating a launch is imminent. In the latest leak, Roland Quandt of WinFuture.de supplied the above pic with a hirsute, hipster sporting a man-bun serving as backdrop on renders of the Moto Z2 Play in White/Gold, Black/Grey and White/Silver colour options.
The reply to the tweet containing the render from TechDroider Vvaiibhav shows the same hipster on an invite for June 1st:

The Moto Z2 is expected to come in multiple variations, a Moto Z2, Moto Z2 Play and Moto Z2 Force. What’s going to be announced on June 1st is anyones guess, but we’re hoping to see all three.
The rumoured Moto Z2 spec list points to a flagship device with a Snapdragon 835 SoC, 2K superAMOLED display which is likely 5.5″ in size to match with Moto Mods released previously. Rumours also point to a dual rear-camera setup for the phone, in line with Motorolas recent release of the G5 Plus – but we’ll have to wait and see.
The Moto Z2 Play is rumoured to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 with 4GB of RAM and have 64GB of storage with a 5.5″ 1920 x 1080 SuperAMOLED display. A 3,000mAh battery will power the phone, with a 5MP front-facing camera, while a 12MP f/1.7 camera will adorn the rear.
We’re hearing rumours of a local Moto event next month here in Australia so we’ll keep you updated on that. For now, we’ll see what happens on June 1st (or June 2nd our time).
