The LG G6 is a very decent phone but sales figures have shown time and again that most phones that sell are NOT flagship phones. Many other manufacturers have been very successful with their mid to low end phones although there are often many compromises to reach this range. LG are looking at bringing what seems to be a mini version of their G6 to these markets.
The mini LG G6 is set to be announced tomorrow under the moniker the LG Q6. As always, details have leaked before the announcement and can be shared around. LG are bringing their 18:9 display (which in my opinion is perfect for a phone) to the Q6. The Q6 will come in three variants, the Q6, the Q6+ and the Q6α, each of varying specs and thus price range.
All devices will be powered by the low end octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 with an Adreno 505 GPU. Their displays, as aforementioned, are 18:9 displays, each 5.5 inches in size with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. All will have a rear single camera that is 13MP and a 5MP front-facing camera. Their battery size is 3000mAh and will be charged via a microUSB connector. They weigh in at 149 grams and will be running Android 7.1.1.
The difference between the three is in the memory configurations. The Q6+ has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, the Q6 has 3GB and 32GB, and the Q6α has 2GB and 16GB. The Q6α is obviously the lower end version and the Q6+ the higher end of the three.

We have reached out to LG Australia to determine availability and pricing for locals. Hopefully LG do decide to grace us with their presence as it looks to be a good looking phone for mid-range money.
