Whether you agree with Australia Day or not today is officially Australia Day and to celebrate Google are promoting some apps by Aussie developers for users to discover.
Google have listed just five apps by local developers and why they liked these particular apps. In no particular order the five Aussie apps highlighted are:
Canva – Free Photo Editor & Graphic Design Tool
Canva is a great tool for making digital graphics for posters, invitations, social media images etc. The tool is easy to use and includes a large library of photos, texts and graphics that can be used to make your graphics stand out. The app also allows you to choose the dimensions of the media you are creating to fit any specific requirements.
Canva is a great tool to make some great creative images to be shared on various social media.

Triple J
Everyone knows Triple J. They have always been great at promoting local talent so it is appropriate that Google are promoting this app. This year Triple J, to the consternation of some of our politicians, are playing their famous Hottest 100 on Saturday 27th January. You can listen to it in its entirety on this app.
Aside from the Hottest 100 you can check your local programming guide as it differs from one state to another and search for tracks you just heard on the radio and save it to your “tracks I love” list.

Pocket Casts
Everyone knows Pocket Casts from our friends at Shifty Jelly. We see Google promoting them time and again in their new launches and today is no exception.
There is a reason Google promote Pocket Casts — the app is nearly perfect. You can save your favourite podcasts and have them download automatically while on Wi-Fi (or not on Wi-Fi). You can listen to a podcast faster than 1X as well as being able to skip past the podcast intro which we all hate. Finding podcasts is also easy by browsing categories and viewing top podcast lists.
It is our go-to podcast app here at Ausdroid and has been for a long time.

THE ICONIC
THE ICONIC allows you to shop for the latest trends in fashion — cltihing and accessories from both local and overseas brands. You can apply filters to help you find the fashion items you are looking for (eg. gym, yoga, etc) as well as check out new trends, best sellers and sales on offer.
It make not be an app for many of us but it is an Australia made app which Google love and I know many people who would also love it. If you love your fashion go and check it out.

Pocketbook Easy Budget Planner
If you are like me you have far too much money and struggle to keep track of it (wishful thinking) which is where this app comes in handy. It is an app used to manage your finances, whatever they are and where ever they may be (although I am not sure it can track BTC, dogecoin or z-cash). It can be used to group all your accounts together with an ability to sync to your bank account, view all your transactions, manage receipts and organise bank transfers. The receipts can even be geotagged to help you remember where you bought things.
Let’s face it, many of us struggle to keep track of what we do have. This app can help you do that and see just where you are leaking money. If you need a good financial manager that does everything in a single app check this out.
