After announcing that Google Home Max would be launching in August, Google Australia has gone silent on more information about the launch, but it appears we now have a date for when the biggest Google Home speaker will launch down under – August 9th.

The date comes courtesy of The Good Guys who are running the banner with the launch date on their website where they’re listing both the Chalk and Charcoal – or ‘Rock Candy’ and ‘Anthracite’ as they’re calling them on their website. While they’ve listed the date, The Good Guys aren’t yet willing to list a price for the Google Home Max just yet, however the Google Home Max sells for $399USD in the United States (without sales tax) which is around $533AUD when directly converted.

The Google Home Max is a massive speaker incorporating twin 4.5-inch high-excursion woofers as well as two 0.7-inch tweeters which Google says offers a sound 20x larger than that offered by the standard Google Home.

In terms of availability you can be notified by Google when they go on-sale if you head over to the Google Store, but if you’re looking at retail availability it’s likely that current Google retail partners such as The Good Guys, Officeworks, JB Hifi, Bing Lee and Harvey Norman will also be selling the speaker – but we’ll have to wait for official confirmation.
