Right on schedule, Google has this morning released the fifth Android Developer Preview (Beta 4) for both Pixel and Pixel 2 phones (XL included), with OTAs rolling out now.
For those keeping count, this is the final developer preview before a final release due some time in Q3 (likely next month), with the release marked as a release candidate thanks to the APIs being finalised in Dev Preview 3. Google confirmed that official Android P is coming soon in their announcement post.
The new Android P build – PPP5.180610.010 – includes the latest July security patch, and is available to download now from the Android P developer site, or through OTA to phones enrolled in the Beta program at g.co/androidbeta.
The previous Beta releases have been fairly stable, and Google hasn’t made note of any particular issues as they have previously, so it may be time to try it out. If you have a Pixel or Pixel 2 you can jump on board through the Beta or by flashing the full image.
