The Android tablet market is shrinking year by year but one of the few manufacturers still filling the shelves in that segment is Lenovo. Overnight they have announced several new tablets of varying specifications.
Lenovo have announced their latest generation of tablets across three levels — The E series tablets, the M10 and the P10 tablets, with all of them arriving on our shores this year. The range of tablets are designed to be not just affordable but also with a range of pricing to “suit any budget”.
The E Series
The E series comprises the Lenovo Tab E7, Tab E8, and Tab E10.
Lenovo Tab E7
The Tab E7 is the entry-level tablet running Android Oreo Go Edition. As you would suspect given it’s name, the Tab E7 has a 7 inch display (1024 x 600 pixel resolution) and is 10.33 mm thick with a battery life of up to 5 hours thanks to the 2750 mAh battery. The tablet has a SIM slot as well as a microSD slot and comes in a Wi-Fi and a 3G version.
Inside there is just 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage but that can of course be increased with a microSD card. The Tab E7 will land here in September for just $99!
Lenovo Tab E8
The Tab E8 has an 8 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display with a massive 10 hours of playback time thanks to the 4850 mAh battery. The Tablet is available as a Wi-Fi version only and runs a MediaTek MT8163B processor. Fairly unremarkable it is designed as a multimedia powerhouse with such a long playback time and higher resolution display. Unfortunately and disappointingly the Tab E8 will run Android Nougat.
The Tab E8 will go on sale in September for $149.
Lenovo Tab E10
The Tab E10 has a 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 IPS LCD display with dual front-facing speakers. It will have a 4850 mAh battery giving 7 hours of playback time and be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210, 1GB or 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. It does sport a microSD card slot for cards up to 128GB in size. It will run Android Oreo Go Edition.
The Tab E10 will go on sale here in November for $199.
Lenovo Tab M10
The Tab M10 is a step up in specs from the E series with a 10.1 inch 1920 x 1200 IPS LCD display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage (and microSD support). It will have both Wi-Fi and 4G support as well as an FM radio inbuilt. The battery is a decent 4850 mAh providing 5 hours of playback time.
The Tab M10 will run a full version of Android Oreo and will be available here in Polar White colour in November for $349.
Lenovo Tab P10
The Tab P10 is a small jump in specs from the M10 with a slightly higher brightness – 400 nits v 320 nits – slightly thinner (7mm v 8.1mm) and has greater storage. The Tab P10 has up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of onboard storage with support for microSD cards up to 256GB. The battery is a massive 7000 mAh giving over 15 hours of playback time.
It still runs a Snapdragon 450, has the same size and resolution display, runs Android Oreo full version and is charged via a USB-C port as is the M10. The Tab P10 will be available in November in Sparkling White for $449.
Lenovo are continuing to release decent tablets so if you are looking for a tablet for perusing media then maybe one of these could be for you. With so many manufacturers deserting this market segment its great to see Lenovo still going strongly here.
