After a fairly substantial testing phase, Samsung has finally announced their first Android Go phone, the Galaxy J2 Core and it’s running Samsung’s custom skin.
The phone is, hardware wise a pretty decent handset for an entry-level device with a 5″ display, Quad-core Exynos 7570 processor and 1GB of RAM. Android Go is designed specifically to run on devices with 1GB or less of RAM, though how it goes with Samsung’s custom skin remains to be seen. Also included in the phone is 8GB of on-board storage and comes with a 2,600mAh battery.

Samsung is limiting availability to Malaysia and India initially, however they will release the phone in other markets around the globe in the near future. Pricing hasn’t been announced as yet, but should be announced in local markets as it arrives.
