The ACCC has yesterday crowned the best NBN provider in its sixth report on real-world NBN speeds, with TPG once again taking out the crown this time round.

The sixth report on real-world NBN speeds from the ACCC found that internet providers are now delivering between 80.4% and 86.7% of maximum plan speeds during peak usage hours of 7pm – 11pm.

Lets take a look at the results found in the report:

TPG came out on top with its customers were have found to receive 86.7% of their plan’s maximum speeds during busy periods, putting the company to the top ranking in report.

The ACCC’s sampling methodology takes in more customers and more providers than before, testing the speeds offered by the nine major ISP companies such as Optus, Telstra, TPG, Aussie Broadband, Dodo, Exetel, iiNet, iPrimus, MyRepublic and TPG. It is worth noting that ACCC speed testing program sample size still isn’t huge, though, as it only covers 1095 NBN connections.

So while there is a possibility for a certain margin of error with this data, it does show that our major Internet Service Providers or ISP’s are doing quite well when it comes to NBN speeds.
