With the launch of the very hard to turn away from Pixel 4a now firmly in the rearview mirror, it’s time for Pixel 5 leaks to start rolling out. With the significant delay of the Pixel 4a, it’s only a matter of weeks until the Pixel 5 is announced.

The Pixel 5 will apparently feature a 6-inch 90Hz AMOLED hole-punch display, a 5G enabled Snapdragon 765G SOC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The internal battery rumoured to be larger than last year with both USB-C fast charging and 15W Qi wireless charging including 5W reverse wireless charging for your accessories.

It looks as if Google will be keeping their single size approach, something we’re not sure we’re 100% happy with. The choice of sizes has always been one of our favourite aspects of the Pixel phone line up.

Renders leaked overnight by @OnLeaks and PriceBaba reveal the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, the dual rear camera and hole-punch display:

Camera-wise the Pixel 5 a will have two lenses, a standard and an Ultrawide. In our review of the Pixel 4a we were very impressed with the Super Res Zoom, so the inclusion of an ultrawide camera to round out the package would be a solid addition.

We have also seen other composite 3D renders released based on the early leaks of the device.

From these renders it seems that Project Soli and Motion Sense are no more. Unless Google has found a way to hide the sensors underneath the display the brief dalliance with Motion Sense in the public domain looks to be either finished or on the back burner for at least another year.

Overall these are solid specs which match previous rumours. While many are going to bemoan the 700 series processor our experience with Snapdragon 730Gin the Pixel 4a makes us feel more comfortable with the choice. The Pixel 5 could well be released in the next two months, so we won’t have long to find out.
