We’ve been seeing details about it off and on for some time, now the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE) is official. Not only did Samsung announce the device’s release last night, but we’ve also had confirmation that the phone is coming to Australia.
Samsung’s approach to the device was to offer a premium flagship smartphone that includes innovations Galaxy fans told us they love most, made available at an accessible price point, starting at $1,149.00 for 5G. By giving users the best possible camera (at a price point of course), big battery, great speed, expandable storage and 5G options that have been delivered.
Let’s take a closer look at the specs of the Galaxy S20 FE.
The screen is a 6.5″ flat Super AMOLED screen running 1028 x 2400 resolution at 407PPI and 120Hz refresh. It weighs 190 grams, is IP68 rated and has a multi-camera array built in. This includes:
- 32MP Selfie Camera F2.2 aperture
- Rear 12MP Ultra Wide Camera F2.2
- 12MP Wide-angle Camera F1.8
- 8MP Telephoto Camera F2.4
This is all powered by an SD865, Adreno 650 and options of either 128GB or 256GB storage sporting 6GB or 8GB of ram respectively. The 4,500mAh battery can be boosted by either wired (QC2.0) or wireless fast charging to ensure you and your phone can go all day.
The rest of the specs are what the market expects from phones these days with a full suite of connectivity including NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6. It is, as they say, for the fans with the specs that Samsung die-hards have asked for and at a more affordable price point.
Local availability starts in a range of colours (Cloud Red, Cloud Orange, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud White and Cloud Navy) tomorrow with pre-orders — which include a set of Galaxy Buds — via the Samsung Australia site and major retail chains. The device will be on sale to the general public from Friday the 9th of October. Finally, the cost… A 4G version will cost you $999.00 and the 5G will set you back $1149.00.
