Ring has announced the launch of its new Outdoor Camera Plus, featuring its best image quality yet. The camera now has 2K video resolution, a wide field of view, and Low-Light Sight technology, which allows for detailed and colorful footage even in near-dark conditions. Ring Vision powers the camera’s image quality, combining high-quality lenses, premium sensors, and advanced image processing.
“The launch of Outdoor Camera Plus marks a significant milestone,”
said Mark Fletcher, Ring Managing Director, APAC.
“With 2K resolution, a wide field of view, and Low-Light Sight technology, the new launch delivers our clearest, most detailed footage yet.”
The Outdoor Camera Plus is designed for both indoor and outdoor use, with a weather-resistant build, a versatile mounting system, and multiple power options (battery, plug-in, and solar) – The upgrade addresses pretty much every issue I’ve had with previous review units and it’s available in black and white.
While basic features like real-time alerts and Two-Way Talk are available without a subscription, Ring Home subscription plans offer additional capabilities. Ring Home Basic provides smart alerts for people, packages, and vehicles, along with 180 days of video history. Ring Home Premium adds 24/7 recording (for plug-in and hardwired power sources).
The camera integrates with compatible Alexa devices for streaming Live View and Two-Way Talk. Ring emphasises its commitment to privacy and security, highlighting features like two-step verification, end-to-end encryption, customisable privacy settings, and privacy zones. A visible blue light indicates when the camera is recording.
The Outdoor Camera Plus is available for pre-order today for AU$179.00 on Ring.com, Amazon.com.au, and through the usual retailers in Australia with shipping beginning on March 27, 2025.
