The things you can do with technology in the time we are in, is incredible. From a consumer perspective to a business perspective, we are using tech on a daily basis, and with new inventions coming out monthly, we are constantly improving the way we do things.

One area of our life that tech has affected is the property market. Many homeowners are now choosing to modernise their homes with a focus on tech upgrades. Technology can be used to transform most aspects of your home. For example, you can install voice-activated smart lights, a digital lock system for your front door that can be controlled via a phone app, or a home system like Google Home or Alexa to play music, manage your heating system, and control your smart security cameras.

To help give you some inspiration, we have put together a short guide on upgrading your home using tech.

Digital Locking System

Why not start the tech upgrades on the first part of your home, your front door. Using a company like ILOQ, you can have smart locks installed to your doors, which provide a seamless and secure solution for managing access. Access can be granted through the use of an app, which you can grant other people access to, should you want to. Digital locks are becoming more common and as more people turn to tech with the homes, more will be installed.

Smart Lights

Lights have completely changed and improved hugely over the years. With the latest tech, you can now have smart lights installed in your home, which can be controlled via your voice or through an app on your phone or tablet. Most of the smart lights allow you to change their colours, to any colour you can think of – purple, pink, green, blue – and they are cheaper to run than the standard lights you may be used to. You’ll be amazed at the difference smart lights can make to your interiors at home. Plus, you can use them on your lamps, your garden lights or ceiling lights.

Smart Heating System

Something you should definitely consider is installing a smart heating system into your home. Being able to control your heating when you are away from your home is a game-changer, especially when it’s a cold day. Heating systems like Google’s Nest allow you to set your home’s temperature on your phone, so that when you arrive back, it’s at the temperature. You are also able to use your voice to control it and the thermostat on the wall looks premium – no longer will you arrive home to a cold hallway and living room.

Technology is amazing, and the list of things you can do to your home using tech will keep on growing. What upgrades are you planning on making to your home using tech?
