After a long wait, Google has today announced that the LG G Watch R is now available for purchase on Google Play and as a bonus, it’s live in the Australian Google Play Store.
The Watch has been listed in the devices section in Black only for $349, a small step above the US price of US$299. The G Watch R will ship from Google Play in 1-2 Business days and there’s only one shipping option available: International Priority for an additional $19.95, which should deliver the watch to your door in 2-7 business days. The G Watch R is of course the first Android Wear watch to make full use of the circular display.
The G Watch R comes with a Charging Cradle, Travel Adaptor and Data USB Cable in the box, as well as the G Watch R, which has what’s been seen as a fairly standard hardware listing, including :
- 1.2GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon 400
- 1.3-inch P-OLED Display (320 x 320)
- 4GB eMMC / 512MB RAM
- 410mAh
- Android Wear – compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 and above
- 9-Axis (Gyro/ Accelerometer/ Compass), Barometer, PPG
- Black
- Dust and Water Resistant (IP67)
The G Watch R is only available on Google Play in Australia, Japan and the United States, so it’s fairly limited. We’re expecting word from LG Australia later this morning on retail availability of the G Watch R and we’ll definitely be getting one in for review, so stay tuned for that.
