When Asus showed off their anticipated round Android Wear watches – the ZenWatch 3 – at IFA in Berlin, its stunning looks, full round screen, and current gen specs moved the device near to, if not into, the top of the Android Wear device list. We’ve been wondering since then will it come to Australia, and if it is when will it come? Today we can answer both of those questions, sort of. Yes, Asus Australia plans to release the ZenWatch 3 in Australia and is targeting Q1 (Jan – March) 2017 release.
The ZenWwatch 3 is a beautiful looking device featuring the new 3 button interface, that Android Wear 2.0 is expected to take advantage of, with a 1.39″, 400 x 400, AMOLED display backed up by 340 mAh battery and a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor with 512 MB of RAM the ZenWatch 3 promises to offer one of the best Android Wear experiences to date.

The only negative about the device is what looks to be a proprietary watch strap attachment. However, if Asus release a good range of well-priced accessories or adapters are available to make standard bands compatible then I think Asus may have a solid winner on their hands. Unfortunately, pricing and retail availability just don’t know yet. We’ll stay on top of the ZenWatch and let you know when we find out anything new.
