Launched at CES in January this year, the LG Chromebase is the first commercially available all-in-one ChromeOS PC on the market. The Chromebase has launched in Australia but has been in limited availability, with major retailers deciding against carrying it. But the PC has gotten a shot in the arm, with Kogan now selling the Chromebase for $399.
The Chromebase is a fairly reasonable spec for a baseline Kiosk or web PC, including an Intel Celeron-2955U Haswell based CPU. The system has fairly low RAM, but should run fine for most web-surfing. Also included with the Chromebase package are a keyboard/mouse combo. Full specs on the Chromebase:
- 21.5-inch Full HD (1920 by 1080) IPS display
- Intel Celeron processor
- 2GB of memory
- 16GB of integrated SSD storage
- 1.3 megapixel webcam
- Microphone for video calling
- Twin 5W speakers
- HDMI-in
- LAN Ports
- USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports
Kogan is selling the Chromebase for $399 with free shipping, with stock expected to leave the warehouse 1-2 weeks. This pricing beats the current retail pricing found on StaticIce, as well as the price + shipping cost of getting the Chromebase from Amazon.
If you’re in the market for an LG Chromebase then head on over to Kogan and check it out.
